Akismet Test Page Replaced by Free Akismet Alternative G.A.S.P.

by Grok Horses on May 1, 2009

We no longer have any working Akismet test pages because Akismet has been deleted from every blog we control and replaced with the GrowMap anti-spambot plugin (G.A.S.P.) or CommentLuv Premium which includes GASP. You can win CommentLuv Premium free if you enter right away.

Many of our students have used the toysperiod url because toysperiod has been very generous as a scholarship sponsor. In the past, Akismet has blocked or sent to spam any message of noncommercial, topic specific content with the toysperiod url in the webiste box.

This is a test.

Material left on blog that was white paged prior:

When dealing with Newton, one has to remember that he was only 24 years of age when the plague threatened Cambridge. Those who were able retreated to the countryside to further their studies. Newton was one of the fortunate.

During the next year and a half, a period referred to by scholars as Newton’s miracle year, he, in the first twelve months learned all the math that was then extant, and in the last six months because Europe’s master of mathematics.

Etc.

Comment:

Selflessness is a quality so rare so as to be a spiritual goal.

With the way society judges, eliminates, uses , casts off, impoverishes, jails, executes and shames others, what chance do we have of living a selfless life?

My graduate student friends have been treated very shabbily by the average blogger. This is symptomatic of the masses happy to choose personal convenience above neighborliness, so long as a percentage of their acquaintances (something hopefully, but not necessarily, above 50%) are still able to send them messages of inclusion.

It is made more distasteful that the average Akismet “protected” blogger doesn’t have to disadvantage communication personally. Instead, that task is delegated to those who glory in their power, confident that so long as only a minority of their fellows are sent to outer darkness without recourse to complaint, they, the Akismet leadership, will reap the acclaim they most heartily do not deserve.

There has always been glory in puffing up a straw enemy, donning the uniforms of the dictator and leading the masses to tragedy. In this world of communication, we have the dictators with us still. They reach into our kitchens and living rooms and dens through wires and lighted boxes, and they are powerful, more powerful than we know until it is our turn to have the light removed from our own world.

Leone

How sad.

This is a good idea. I’m wondering how many of my comments have gone into the toilet.

I install a fair number of blogs to promote different companies and products. I’ve started leaving Akismet out and just using a captcha and administrator approval to catch spam. Hope I’m not swamped!

You’re in better shape than most Ron. You don’t appear to be flagged as a spammer. How much commenting do you do?

Read the comment just below this one though. My comment in my own GrowMap blog went into moderation but the exact same comment – EXACTLY the same down to the post I used in CommentLuv and being careful not to put trailing spaces in any field – went live immediately in both this blog and at PSPLiving.

I definitely have prior approved comments in GrowMap using the name Gail @ CommentLuv so that really makes no sense. I hope it doesn’t indicate that WordPress is randomly sending our comments into moderation without cause.

Hi Sire,

I did express to Ann that commenting in blogs about the Akismet problem was probably not the best way to do that; however, we can not argue with the fact that it did eventually get results.

Ok time for comment # 2. I think I am under a ‘good’ IP Address right now, that’s why my previous comment was accepted ( in Akismet 2.2.7).

Sometimes I do face problems, like my comment not appearing and going under spam, if I am under a bad IP address.
